Holiday Shopping
December is such a busy month. What with all the baking, shopping, decorating, partying and school functions to attend. *Sigh* There’s hardly time to get any sewing done. But here at Sewing Party, we’ve got some friendly elves to get your holiday shopping done. If you need a fabulous gift for your Secret Sister or the quilter/sewing enthusiast in your life, then head down to Sewing Party. We’ve got gift certificates ready and for every $20.00 gift certificate you purchase, you get to choose a fat quarter for yourself! Gift certificates make a great stocking stuffer and stand by gift in case you inadvertently forgot to add someone on your list.
If you prefer to do the shopping but loathe doing the gift wrapping, not to worry. We will gladly take care of that for you, as well. We’ve got plenty of parking ( no need to drive round and round at the mall) and friendly elves to help you put your projects together.

Gee’s Bend Quilt Kits (Limited Edition)
Were you taken away by the incredible quilts from the Gee’s Bend Quilters when you first saw them? Now the Sewing Party has a selection of kits for you to make your very own. These are “limited edition” quilt kits consisting of hand dyed fabrics. This pattern is based off of the “House Top” quilt made by Rita Mae Pettway. Windham Fabrics teamed up with the Gee’s Bend Quilter’s Collective to produce 4 kits that are replicas of originals all created by quilter’s from Gee’s Bend:
“A small remote community in Alabama (pop. 700), represents the genius of a group of exceptional quilters who, for more than a century, have created distinctive works of art for their homes and families. The textile artists of Gee’s Bend are the inheritors of a tradition that goes back many generations. The “discovery” of these unique American masterpieces has led to their exhibition in museums including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York and The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among others.”
Amy Butler Quilt Kits
The Sewing Party quilt shop offers a studio like atmosphere where quilters can come work on their projects, take classes, and be inspired by luscious contemporary fabrics and beautiful quilts. The quilt shown here is made with Amy Butler fabric in green tea, sky blue, a whisper of gray and velvety brown. There are a very few number of quilt kits left with this out of print pattern and fabric on the Sewing Party online shop. If you love Amy Butler’s design aesthetic, you might enjoy picking out a selection of these fabrics for your next sewing project!
